Despite their energy, innovation, and commitment, youth-led projects receive less than 1% of climate funding—stifling the transformative solutions they offer for urgent global challenges. The Iris Project exists to change this, empowering young leaders to drive impactful environmental action.

The Iris Project empowers young leaders to drive environmental solutions through a global annual prize. By providing trust-based funding, we support diverse, youth-led projects that protect and restore nature. We amplify early-stage ideas and scale established initiatives, fostering growth, resilience, and lasting impact. With a focus on the Global South, The Iris Project demonstrates the transformative power of youth-led action to tackle the planet’s most urgent challenges.

In the form of a global, annual prize, The Iris Project champions trust-based funding to enable young people to protect and restore nature. Supporting up to nine diverse projects annually, we demonstrate the value of investing in youth-led initiatives. Our approach nurtures early-stage ideas and scales established projects, fostering growth, creativity, and sustainability in the environmental movement. This strategy showcases young leaders' transformative potential for broader long-term impact.
