At One YMCA, we are passionate in our belief that all young people should be able to belong, contribute and thrive in our society. Our vision is to provide support services that empower young people to overcome challenges and give them the skills and resources they need to succeed.

Situation
Services for young people have experienced a 70% cut in funding since 2010 leaving many young people without a safe space to go when it’s needed most. There are essential building blocks for a full and rewarding life: a safe home, acceptance, physical and mental health. Many young people have never known these things, other people have lost one or more as they grow up. At One YMCA we provide these critical foundations for a fresh, strong start for young people and a better quality of life
Solution
We will collaborate across our service areas, sharing skills and experience. Our Signpost counselling service will support clients from our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs). We will support families through our Family Support Service. Our accommodation services also provide a safe, welcoming space for those who need it. We aim to help young people to build support networks and strengthen their resilience, reducing loneliness and isolation, improving confidence and self-esteem.
