Since 1995, Camcycle has been working with people in Cambridgeshire on schemes that improve walking and cycling and result in better, healthier places. As our 30th birthday approaches, help us build on our work supporting communities to envision and deliver the people-friendly streets of the future.

Although the majority of respondents to Cambridgeshire’s first Quality of Life survey felt positively about their local area, there was plenty of room for improvement, particularly for those living in the most rural and urban communities. 76% wanted to see better roads and pavements and 77% wanted to see more action on climate change. 40% said they had struggled with their physical health and over 50% of 18-24 year olds reported frequently feeling lonely.

Enabling people to walk and cycle for more everyday journeys unlocks a host of benefits for both individuals and communities. The need for better streets and places has already been recognised by campaign groups, schools, parish councils and residents’ associations across the county and Camcycle is supporting their work with our technical, communications and engagement expertise. Help to continue and grow this work will increase our collaborative impact on local quality of life.
