Sustainable technologies and solar-powered electricity are the backbone to our development projects. We work in partnership with local communities to address their priorities: access to clean water and electricity; education and healthcare; economic regeneration and sustainable livelihoods.

Situation
We support communities to overcome extreme multidimensional poverty by helping them address food insecurity, lack of water and sanitation, poor/no access to basic healthcare or education, and unemployment. Some have fled conflict and lost all they had, others are subsistence farmers or fisher folk whose livelihoods are plagued by climate change. They struggle with hunger, malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, burns and smoke damage from burning kerosene for light and wood for cooking.
Solution
Our development model starts by assessing and then addressing a community's basic needs. Clean water and sanitation, access to reliable and clean electricity, and connectivity provide the essential infrastructure for our community-led partnerships. Once we have addressed a community's basic needs, we work with them to identify and prioritise further development priorities whether that be access to education (children and adults), livelihoods, climate adaptation and environment, or healthcare.
