Situation
The Society for Abandoned Animals addresses Manchester's rising animal abandonment, evidenced by over 140 calls in two weeks for our shelter to take in cats, all shelters are in unprecedented demand. This strains shelters, spreads diseases, and affects wildlife. Long-term, it burdens veterinary services and increases community costs. We aim to reduce abandonment by improving education on prevention, enhancing shelter facilities, and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Solution
Our charity will tackle animal abandonment by launching school outreach, running targeted social media campaigns, and expanding community education. We are committed to never putting a healthy animal down and focus on rehoming every adoptable pet. This is crucial due to gaps in accessible pet care education and resources. Our approach fills these gaps, reduces abandonment rates, and promotes better pet care, providing a sustainable solution to the problem.
