Nearly 1 in 5 girls will experience sexual abuse in their lifetime. Peace and 3 other children were sexually assaulted by a man in their community. Abuse of children, including sex trafficking, happens around the world, leaving children deeply traumatised. Every child who's been abused urgently needs long-term, specialist support to heal and obtain justice. IJM social workers and partners around the world provide this vital support. Solution
Child abuse and trafficking thrive when perpetrators can abuse and exploit with little fear of being caught. International Justice Mission works with police, local justice systems, and partners to bring abused and trafficked children to safety; ensure traffickers are held to account; help survivors heal through trauma-informed care; and work with local communities to protect children from ever being abused. We’ve seen child trafficking decrease by up to 86% in places where we’ve worked.
