There are approx. 30,000 learning Disabled children and adults in England with complex support needs (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities). They face complex barriers such as high medical needs; 20 years lower life expectancy; twice as likely to have poor mental health; barriers to communication; lack of choice and control; inaccessible leisure, arts/cultural, and career opportunities (only 5.1% of learning Disabled adults are in paid work); isolation and poor visibility in society.

For nearly 30 years, Soundabout has used the universal language of music and sound to create opportunities with Learning Disabled people where they thrive. A wide range of person-centred music making activities in local communities and online improve health and wellbeing, communication, connections with others, self-expression, while bringing increased enjoyment. We celebrate everything individuals can do, following their lead, and amplify their voices in a world where they are rarely heard.
