People living with dementia can face real challenges in engagement with their communities and peers resulting in loneliness, isolation, and further decline in their mental wellbeing. There are numerous barriers to participation in group activities including communication challenges, appropriate transportation, unsuitable or overly stimulating spaces, or a lack of bespoke opportunities which meet their specific needs and place them, and those who care for them, at the heart of the activity.

Sinfonia Viva provides inclusive Relaxed performances specifically designed to enable people living with dementia and their carers to experience the many benefits of live performance. Performances are curated by musicians with an expertise in empowering people living with dementia to engage with, and shape, the musical content and structure of each concert. This approach creates an inclusive and supported environment, reduces loneliness, improves mental wellbeing, and enables decision making.
