IAM RoadSmart is committed to making roads safer for all – we know that young drivers and riders aged 17-26 are high risk on the roads. In 2021, young drivers were involved in a fifth of all serious collisions, highlighting the urgent need for effective road safety education and support. Our 5,000 expert volunteers provide hands-on experience and cutting-edge knowledge. Our research influences policies, while our community-building efforts create passionate road safety advocates.
Solution
We will execute specific initiatives to enhance road safety and empower young individuals, including: funding Skills Day places, delivering Advanced Driver & Rider courses, encouraging participants to undertake volunteer roles, and inspiring them to advocate for road safety within their communities. By achieving these aims, we will create a safer road environment for all road users. Our aim is to reduce fatalities, and foster a long-term commitment to road safety among the next generation.
