Situation
Leeds Baroque is the City's only period instrument choir and orchestra. We wish to celebrate our 25th season with an ambitious programme of 17th and 18th century music, build our audience and keep Baroque music alive for the next 25 years. To keep ticket prices affordable, and with the rising costs of venue hire, our level of funding governs how generous we can be in providing professional engagements for the up-and-coming young professional musicians.
Solution
We hope to resolve the problem by building an audience with attractive programming, multiple fundraising efforts with grant applications, public appeals (such as this) and the support of the "Friends" organisation and a small number of individual donors. A successful anniversary season will ensure the continuation of the previous 25 years of development, and ensure that this under represented period of musical development is not lost to the history books.
