Clean, reliable, electricity is vital to power health services 24/7. Without it, services are severely constrained, placing entire communities at risk. With your help, we will ensure that over 9,000 people can access improved healthcare around the clock in seven of rural Nepal’s poorest communities.

Situation
Rural health facilities in Nepal serve as the primary healthcare source for thousands of people. But they often lack reliable access to electricity. These off-grid facilities can only function during daylight hours, provide minimal services, and are unable to store vaccines and medicines safely without dependable cold chain storage. Poor energy access means even simple health problems can escalate quickly and become life-threatening for the people who rely on these facilities.
Solution
We’ve already installed solar systems in 23 remote clinics in Nepal and Kenya, benefitting over 47,000 people who would otherwise have to travel miles to reach the next nearest health facility. By December 2025, we will install solar energy systems, alongside refrigeration and other energy-enabled equipment in a further 7 rural facilities where there is an urgent need. We will do this in partnership with local government partners and health staff to ensure the systems' long-term sustainability.
