Situation
Navigating the journey into adulthood can be challenging, but for young disabled people in isolated areas, the struggles are magnified. Many rely heavily on parents and face barriers and exclusion due to insufficient support and accessibility. This leads to social isolation, low self-esteem and limited aspirations and life quality. 2 in 5 people living with disabilities experience loneliness, compared to 29% of the general population and 2/3 of disabled people struggle to access social activity.
Solution
We help break the chains of isolation and exclusion for young disabled people in the Southwest by offering life-changing experiences, friendships, and support. Our members can connect with peers and engage in a variety of fun, educational and empowering activities they never believed possible. The impact is lifechanging: members feel accepted, accomplished and empowered to live to their fullest potential, which sets a powerful precedent of boundless opportunity for the entire disabled community.
