Youth unemployment and poverty is at an all-time high, following covid, extreme drought and rising costs of living. We’ve seen the devastating impacts, as families struggle to survive. Unemployment & poverty put young people at high risk of exploitation, abuse and violence, especially young girls, causing significant trauma and poor mental health. With few jobs available, self-employment can provide an opportunity for earning income, but most young people do not have the skills or confidence.

Through our Seed of Hope programme, we provide free vocational training and business skills courses for young people experiencing poverty, aged 14-25. Every student is supported with counselling, food, childcare or travel vouchers and we support them to find employment or set up a small business to generate income. We urgently need your help to support 1,060 young people next year, to gain the skills and confidence needed to build a financially secure future, free from poverty.
