We support adult survivors of severe burns who face complex physical and psychological challenges. Annually, about 250 adults suffer burn injuries from sources like self-harm, accidents, fires and violence. Injuries cause disabilities, scarring, and chronic pain, affecting identity and social interactions. Survivors often experience mental health issues, including trauma and depression, and face long-term support gaps. We provide specialised, long-term rehabilitation and care to address needs.
We address needs through bespoke support including specialist physiotherapy and psychological therapies. The journey can include residential rehabilitation stays, scar management, holistic therapies such as exercise plans and nutrition advice to aid recovery, and ongoing wellbeing support. We are expanding NHS referrals to ensure timely access to us. Combining lived experiences of our survivors, staff and trustees with clinical expertise enables us to provide an effective, relevant offer.
