Our mission is to enable, equip and encourage Christians in the Armed Forces through discipleship, fellowship and prayer. Increased levels of deployment bring additional pressures on our serving membership, our vision is to resource and train our members to be beacons of hope in their communities.

Being a Christian and maintaining a faith within the current military environment is challenging, due to the pace of deployments, and postings. Individuals and families in the serving military community can be isolated from spiritual and emotional support, through a lack of appropriate resources or community and understanding churches. Many serving members face immense stress, trauma and separation from loved ones and access to a Chaplain is not always possible.

For years the Armed Forces Christian Union (AFCU) has promoted discipleship, fellowship and prayer to its members. Our new leadership programme (Issachar) uses a mentoring model and aims to strengthen faith, raise role models in workplaces and grow the network of Christians within the military (both national & international). The AFCU's vision is also to provide relevant spiritual resources and prayer support for our membership, deepen connections and thus reduce isolation and pastoral needs.
