Situation
Our planet is in a climate and nature emergency. Extreme weather events, such as flooding and droughts, are becoming commonplace. Meanwhile, last year almost 4 million hectares of precious tropical forest were destroyed – twice the size of Wales. Scientific evidence shows greenhouse gases are heating our planet and destabilising the climate. To limit this damage, we must drastically cut emissions and limit global warming to 1.5°C. However, time is running out.
Solution
We believe empowering Indigenous and local communities is the best way to preserve and restore forests. Funds raised will be used to support our forest partners to tackle deforestation and plant thousands of trees where they are most needed. We support partner communities in South America, sub-Saharan Africa, and South-East Asia. We also focus on empowering women and young people in our partner projects.
