10% of people in Hertfordshire are living in digital poverty, they do not have the technical equipment or skills to get online, or the digital world is a mystery to them. This means they are more likely to be lonely and isolated or unable to access healthcare services. People who are digitally excluded tend to be physically isolated too so our project aims to provide support to meet with others and build confidence in accessing essential online services.

Staying Connected recycles (making an environmental impact) and repurposes redundant IT equipment from businesses and individuals, gifting them to people who are unable to access the online world. We add in connectivity where that is needed and a volunteer visits to help explain how to use their new equipment to get online. We also deliver a range of face to face training courses where people can get together with likeminded friends to address loneliness and isolation.
