Being disabled is hard wherever you live, in rural Tanzania it can be mission impossible.There is a complete lack of support, infrastructure and opportunity for people with disabilities, excluding them from society; from school or work, confining them to home. Disabled Tanzanians are much more likely to face extreme poverty, health issues, and cultural discrimination than their peers. Just Wheels works to level the playing field and give individuals and the disabled community a better chance.

We work through local partners to provide wheelchairs, support and education. People with mobility impairments are providing a wheelchair which immediately makes life more possible for people who can't get around easily. Then we help them get education - primary, secondary or vocational - and provide training and support to make sure they have all the tools they need to get on in life. We also provide infrastructure to schools such as toilets and ramps to enable access.
