We are committed to widening access to creative opportunities for young people in Bristol. We need support to deliver a free weekly drama programme in schools and community spaces across Bristol, engaging with young people who have never been to the theatre or engaged with drama before.

Young Company City (YCC) aims to tackle the inequality of access to creative opportunities in Bristol, specifically targeting areas in the city where we have had little to no engagement. We focus on engaging areas of Bristol with limited access to arts and arts education, particularly in neighbourhoods experiencing multiple deprivation including Hartcliffe, Ashley Ward, and Southmead (according to data from Bristol City Council).

By providing fully funded sessions, we remove social economic and geographic barriers to participation and engagement with theatre. Participants will take part in tailored workshops in their communities working towards a performance on the main stage at BOV. As well as developing key skills such as communication, teamwork, and collaboration, the project also highlights careers in the arts and wider creative industries
