Sexual violence can have significant and lasting consequences on survivors, including impacting negatively on individuals mental and physical health, leaving survivors feeling isolated and disconnected from their community. Other long-term consequences can include post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, social phobia, substance abuse, obesity, eating disorders, self-harm and suicide.

We will use the donations and match funding to train and support our team of volunteer counsellors who will work on our Emotional Support Lines to be there for women and girls who need to talk to someone who understands what they are going through. The funding will cover the costs involved in advertising and recruiting volunteers with the specialist skills we require, training venue costs and staff time, as well as clinical supervision for those who successfully complete the training course.
