PalMusic raises funds for children living in challenging circumstances to access high-quality music education in Palestine. We want to provide 5 disadvantaged children bursary places to attend the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM) in Ramallah on the West Bank.

Situation
PalMusic fundamentally believes that Palestinian children and young people deserve to have fulfilling lives. Access to culture, as set out in UNESCO Article 27, is a basic human right. The Article argues that the protection of culture is ‘fundamental to addressing the challenges of our time’ including ‘ever more complex emergencies and conflicts’. However, many children can only afford to take part if they receive a bursary for their tuition, instrument maintenance and ensemble access.
Solution
Through funding 5 Palestinian children's bursaries, so they can to attend the ESNCM in Bethlehem for a year. The ESNCM sources funding internationally, but PalMusic can access funds from UK donors and organisations, opening up new possibilities. Many funders seek new projects, so funding campaigns such as Big Give, enable us to fund what we understand ESNCM needs most - student bursaries, so that children can access the conservatory's main education programme.
