Pact has supported people in prison and their families and children for over 125 years. During that time, much has changed, but Pact's mission to support people to make a fresh start has remained largely the same.

Every year, more than 80,000 families and 200,000 children and young people are affected by imprisonment. The impact of a parent being imprisoned is immense & long-lasting, & is classed as an adverse childhood experience.

Prison-leavers with strong family ties are 39% less likely to reoffend. We work at the intersection of criminal justice, child and family welfare, mental health wellbeing provision and health and social care. We provide advice and information and also work for the relief of poverty and sickness, and the advancement of education and training opportunities for prisoners, prison leavers, their families and their children.
