Moldova is one of Europe's poorest countries. It's finances are so poor, made worse due to the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the enormous increase in power costs, that rural schools are unlikely to receive any modern teaching equipment. This limits the opportunities for higher education and from there lifetime opportunities for the students, their families, their communities and eventually the economic growth of the country itself.

ChildAid has already invested in one school in Călărași with teachers' laptops, projectors in all classrooms, interactive whiteboard, re-stocking library with modern books, and science teaching equipment. Already the enthusiasm of teachers and students alike has substantially grown and improved results are being seen. Students and staff in other schools are pleading with us to invest in the same way in their schools. This project will enable us to invest in education in more schools.
