Situation
The families that we support are facing formidable challenges with parents experiencing mental health issues and the impact of this on family life and their child's well-being can be significant. Issues have worsened after the pandemic and due to the financial crisis. Parents from disadvantaged backgrounds are in even greater risk, resulting in increased anxiety and mental health issues which consequently has a negative impact on the children’s mental health and development.
Solution
We will deliver two 8 week programmes that will cover the following areas:: Mental Health - Exercise - Social connections - Cooking - Confidence - Compare and despair - Solitude and loneliness - Sleep - A celebratory meal to conclude. After which the cohort will be encouraged to join a weekly Peer Support Group of like-minded individuals and benefit from group activities. Each programme will accommodate 12 participants per programme and will support 24 parents over the year. .
