Everyone who has ever planted a seed or tended a garden knows the rewards it can bring. At St Werburghs City Farm, we bring people together to grow, harvest & enjoy food, welcoming over 7,500 participants each year, most of whom face disadvantage, disability or ill-health.

Since the pandemic, isolation & loneliness has impacted many more lives, including in the Farm's local wards: -Disconnection from community support has caused previously manageable circumstances to become overwhelming, with more people experiencing mental ill-health. -Disabled people are spending much more time at home, where previously most would have participated more in their communities. -Young people are living with crippling anxiety that causes them to miss out on education.
At the Farm, we are working to create a future where communities grow, green spaces flourish, and together we thrive. Our services bring people together in a safe and supportive setting to explore the benefits of green space, food, and social connection. We run a therapeutic volunteering programme for adults experiencing mental ill-health; horticultural training for adults with learning disabilities; cooking, growing and play programmes for young people struggling at school.
