The Paper Birds is a devising theatre company, with a social and political agenda. We’re artists, investigators, entrepreneurs and educators. This year we celebrate our 21st birthday, and are fundraising to collaborate with Primary Schools on a new project exploding with creativity!

Situation
The arts are often underused in primary classrooms due to lack of time, space, resources and confidence. Teachers are facing increasing pressures to meet an expanding range of needs, evidencing meaningful learning with ever decreasing resources. The Paper Birds have successfully brought creativity into secondary school contexts for many years, and now seeks to use its expertise to Primary School Teachers and their students to be their most creative selves.
Solution
We will create a brand new set of Creativity Cards for primary classrooms. We know from experience that given small & open prompts, students' imaginations can take great leaps; allowing them to respond vocally, physically, verbally or via a range of artistic modes. This supports pupils to understand a new topic, reflect their learning, or approach something from a different direction. This also supports teachers with pre-made creative & rewarding activities that can be dropped into any lesson.
