Over 4 million tonnes of good food are wasted every year across the UK. Meanwhile, 11 million people are worried about where their next meal comes from. One in four households with young children are struggling with food insecurity. FareShare aims to solve this crisis by saving good food from going to waste and redistributing it to those in need. But the demand for food support is growing, including among 18-25 year olds.

We redistribute surplus food, which is unsold or unwanted by the food industry, to local charities and community groups that use it to feed people going hungry. Last year, we delivered four meals every single second. That’s the equivalent of 128 million meals. The food provided by FareShare strengthens communities and brings people together, often offering a gateway to other support services.
