This campaign has now closed
Over 230,000 badgers have been killed in the last 11 years through the badger cull, and thousands more become victims of wildlife crime each year. Our campaign will help Badger Trust invest in equipment, research, training and campaigning to end the cull and protect the future of the badger.

Situation
The badger cull has placed badger populations at risk. Over 230,000 badgers have been killed – half the population – and parts of the country now face local extinction. Natural England’s Director of Science advised against the authorisation of the supplementary culls in May 2024, but this advice was ignored. Badgers are also one of the most persecuted species and are subject to baiting, snaring and poisoning. Every day, these iconic creatures are in a fight for survival.
Solution
Badger Trust is the leading voice for badgers in England and Wales. We have a network of 50 local badger groups and an impassioned supporter base committed to badger protection. This project will fund resources and campaigning to bring a policy change to end the cull and focus on better cattle measures to eradicate bTB. It will also help fund equipment and research to protect badgers, train groups to rescue badgers and train police forces and others to identify wildlife crimes.
