We acknowledge that children and young people across Sheffield face significant barriers to accessing culture in our city. We are committed to working with our communities and would like to increase opportunities for young people who may face barriers taking part in our activities. We know that there are people and communities across the city that we are not reaching; whose talents and ideas are not expressed in our work, or on our stages, and who may not feel Sheffield Theatres is for them.

We will work with partners including schools, community organisations, housing associations and in targeted postcodes, to identify young people interested in taking part. Activities will be free, and we will offer support with travel costs, food and refreshments. We will build good relationships with teachers, carers, parents and social workers, assessing the needs of the participants. We will offer opportunities for shared creative experiences, in a supportive and nurturing environment.
