Through our work we aim to connect people with where our food comes from - past, present and future. We care for rare breeds, river meadows and woodland, historic buildings and a collection of historic artefacts. Our work with young people gives a vital education and insight into food and farming.

How we grow, produce, buy, cook and consume food is crucial to the future of human life. Many people are disconnected with where their food comes from, who makes it and how. We educate people of all ages so that we can make better decisions about what we put into our bodies and the impact we are having on our planet. Many of our heritage buildings are in need of maintenance. The recent loss of our core funding from Suffolk County Council means we need further support to fund this vital work.
The Food Museum aims to connect people with how food is, has been and will be made in the future. Through our educational programmes, we help children and adults make better dietary choices for their health and wellbeing. We look at lessons we can learn from the past, providing interactive workshops, tasters and historically accurate demonstrations. We have 17 listed buildings on site, maintaining these and improving our much loved animal area will increase enjoyment and benefit all visitors.
