Situation
Staying in hospital can be overwhelming for anyone, for a child, the fear can be immense. Having their family nearby is a great source of comfort. Unfortunately, when a child needs hospital care, sometimes the best medical support may be far from home. This can cause great difficulties for them and their family, as travelling to and from hospital or staying in nearby hotels can be time consuming and costly. Families may miss valuable time spent with their child when they need them most.
Solution
Our Charity provides free home away from home accommodation close to 14 major children’s hospital across the UK. Families can stay close by to their child for as long as they are in hospital. There’s space for the whole family to have a comfortable bed, space to cook and eat together, places to relax and connect with other families in similar situations. We provide a sense of normalcy and comfort during a difficult time, whether they need it for days, or even years.
