Kinship carers are family or friends who step up to care for a child when their parents aren’t able to - keeping vulnerable children out of care and in stable homes. We are the leading kinship care charity, delivering services and campaigning so that kinship families are recognised and supported.

A moment of crisis. A call on the phone. Take on the care of a child you love or they enter care. You are now a kinship carer. Right now, kinship carers are keeping around 141,000 children across England and Wales out of care and in stable homes. But invisible and unsupported, they are being pushed to the emotional and financial edge. We are changing the system so that it works for kinship families – enabling children who have had the most difficult start in life to thrive.

Our ambition is bold – we want to see a fit for purpose system for kinship care families. Your support can help to deliver this by changing lives and changing the system. We deliver national support, advice and information, connecting kinship carers so they feel empowered rather than isolated. We develop research campaigns and policy solutions. Creating positive change across society.
