We exist to beat paralysis. Every 2 hours someone in the UK will sustain a spinal cord injury, this is 4,400 a year. Over 105,000 people are living with a spinal cord in the UK right now. A spinal cord injury can happen anytime, any place and is truly life-changing affecting not only mobility but many more lesser know issues like bowel & bladder, phantom pain and even systems as basic as respiratory.

Our mission is to harness the power of international science to accelerate the delivery of revolutionary treatments. Over the last 40 years our work has helped deliver some of the major scientific breakthroughs needed to understand the biology of the spinal cord, and importantly what is needed to repair it. The science is here and moving rapidly, what we need now is the support to accelerate this promising research to help people living with a spinal cord injury. Together we will cure paralysis.
