People are in desperate need of policies that will ease the burden of their everyday living costs. Meanwhile we urgently need to drastically reduce our impact on the climate. Powerful climate sceptics want to paint reducing our carbon emissions as an unaffordable burden on ordinary people. To prevent the rise of populist anti-climate movements seen elsewhere in world, we need to show that green policies can tangibly help with the cost of living in the short term.

NEF builds leadership and capacity in marginalised communities. We train leaders from diverse groups to build local campaigns and co-produce and advocate for the changes that they need, with support from our expert researchers. We are winning support for a green transition by showing how green policies can have a positive impact on people’s lives, such as retrofitting our homes to reduce sky high energy bills.
