The pangolin, the world's most trafficked wild mammal, faces extinction. Crucial for biodiversity, these gentle creatures disperse seeds and help control insects. Tragically, they are poached in the tens of thousands for illegal wildlife trade. Please help save pangolins from disappearing forever.

Since 2014, the number of trafficked pangolins seized globally has surged by an estimated tenfold. Between 2014 and 2021, an estimated 8.5 million pangolins were taken from the wild in West and Central Africa. Driven by demand for their scales, used in traditional Chinese medicine, and their meat, considered a delicacy in East Asia, these unique mammals face the threat of extinction. Pangolins are now the most trafficked mammal in the world, with all eight species at risk due to poaching.

In collaboration with our local grassroots partner, PCRF a dedicated approach is being taken to prevent the extinction of pangolins through a three-pronged strategy: conducting research to enhance knowledge of pangolins and their ecosystems, employing community rangers and providing community food packs to reduce pressures on hunting for local sustenance, and educating people, including school children, on the crucial role pangolins play in local biodiversity and conservation efforts.
