For those with the least, it is hard to imagine overcoming immediate personal problems, let alone helping a whole community. Many people subconsciously believe they are powerless to effect change. We see this again and again in the communities in which we work. Subsequently, people wait for others, an NGO or an aid organisation to come and bring help. Many times, nobody is coming, or if they do, they come for a while and then leave. Nothing much changes in the long run.

Instead of bringing help from the OUTSIDE of a community, Dignity raises up people from WITHIN through the formation of Life Groups: communities on mission together. Within Life Groups, people understand that they are valuable, their life has purpose, and that together they can impact the whole community. We have seen how evangelism leads to people coming to know Jesus, how teaching, friendship, and community lead to discipleship, and how acts of kindness and love transform communities.
