What’s on your Christmas list? Some children dream of a birth certificate. Without a birth certificate, they are invisible, with no official identity. A birth certificate shows they matter and helps them access public services. Scottish Love in Action works with Rainbow Homes to turn lives around.

Many children in India do not have identity documents, such as a birth certificate. That means they: • are invisible. They have no name, nationality or identity. • have no rights. They do not exist, so have no legal protection. • face exploitation. They risk child labour, child marriage, and trafficking.

Working with long-term partner Rainbow Homes, we ensure a child receives the identity documents they desperately need. As well as helping them get this vital paperwork, a young person receives support at ASRITHA Rainbow Home. They receive wraparound support - everything from nutritious meals to help with homework to learning about their rights. This multifaceted approach helps these forgotten children be part of society.
