Mental health challenges among young people are rising rapidly. GMYN aims to raise £12,000 to enhance our existing mental health and wellbeing programmes reducing isolation and helping young people develop new skills, confidence and friendships.

Situation
55% of 16–25-year-olds said they’ve seen their GP about mental health at some point in their lives. Specialist services are stretched and young people are often made to join long waiting lists. Many parents say their child's mental health deteriorates while waiting for support. As the number of young people needing support shoots up, many are forced to find their own way of coping.
Solution
Our mental health and wellbeing programmes provide: • Fun group activities such as arts and crafts, music, sports, and gardening. • Opportunities to develop essential life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and travel training. • Volunteering and Social Action projects to gain new skills, friendships and sense of belonging in their local communities. These activities help young people work through mental health challenges while developing new skills, confidence and friendships.
