Each day is a battle for these babies. They undergo complex surgeries and endure long hospital stays. Parents face the challenge of caring for a critically ill baby at home, with a high risk of death. 80% of parents told us they experience their highest stress at this critical time, feeling devastated, alone, and scared. They are unsure how they will cope, “It felt like we were going to lose him - doctors/nurses at hospital didn't explain the problem - maybe they didn't understand themselves.”
Solution
We wrap a blanket of support around each family, providing 1-2-1 support to help them understand their child's condition and treatment options, ensuring access to medically verified resources and our trained parent volunteers who have experienced similar challenges. Our services are available 365 days a year, ensuring that families are never alone. With our support, 90% of families have improved mental health, a supportive network, and better decision making and coping skills.
