Aplastic anaemia is a rare and serious bone marrow failure. A diagnosis of AA can separate you from the people you love physically and emotionally. But we can change that. We connect people living with this rare condition, and help them explain to the people around them.

You can’t look after your grandchildren, because they’ve got a cold. Your friends are irritated because you had to cancel. They don’t understand how you can be fatigued when you seemed fine last week. You’re stuck in isolation in hospital and everyone’s too busy for a video call. Half of people living with or caring for someone with AA or a related condition feel lonelier as a result. A third only meet up with someone outside their home once a fortnight or less.

We can provide people diagnosed with aplastic anaemia and the people who care for them with a support network of professionals, psychologists, clinical experts and, importantly, other people who have been diagnosed with the condition.
