Each year, over 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer. Candlelighters supports these children, and their families, for a lifetime. The need for our services is felt especially at Christmas which can be an even harder time for families to navigate.

Being told your child has cancer is some of the most devastating news parents can receive. Families enter a new world of hospitals and treatment: children can spend months isolated on the wards, missing out on crucial parts of their childhood. Families with multiple children may end up split apart trying to care for their poorly child and their siblings. Christmas can be an especially upsetting time - seeing other families make the most of the festivities, having fun and making happy memories.

With your help, we can provide additional support to ensure children and families don’t miss out on the magic of Christmas. As well as funding our regular emotional, practical and financial support, your donations will fund festive activities and events, visits from Santa, presents, and give grants to families to ease additional costs at this time of year. You can help give children with cancer the Christmas they deserve.
