Help us to bring a stimulating, engaging programme of social interaction and activities to older people living with long-term conditions such as dementia, and their carers. This will include lunch and supper clubs - starting in the New Year, when the weather is cold and miserable and money is tight.

Situation
We will reduce the pressure and isolation experienced by unpaid carers of older people and the people they care for. A survey by Carers UK found that 25% of carers had not received a single day away from caring in 5 years. We are still finding that people are reluctant to leave home following the pandemic - despite having little or no other social contact. Our lunch/supper clubs have been extremely popular. Please help us to make older people's lives more connected and less fearful this Winter.
Solution
Every pound raised will go towards activities like lunch and supper clubs for older people, in a warm, friendly space with a delicious home cooked meal. Perhaps the biggest value of the clubs, is the opportunity to spend time socialising with like-minded others. A survey this year revealed that around 80% of our lunch club attendees felt they made new friends, 95% would recommend it to other people locally, and almost 70% felt their general wellbeing had improved since participating.
