Our Early Intervention Service for Young People is a mental health and wellbeing service for 11 to 18 year olds. This service gives young people the skills to understand, protect and improve their mental health. We help children, young people and adults to get well, stay well and thrive.

    The number of children & young people referred to specialist mental health services in Kent & Medway has risen by more than 28% in two years. Poor mental health among children & young people extends beyond individual suffering, it can lead to difficulties in school, strained relationships, long-term issues that persist into adulthood. The rise in mental health problems among children & young people highlights the urgent need for increased support & intervention to address this crisis.

    Deliver a person-centred Early Intervention Service for up to 100 children & young people11-18. 1. Support young people with their mental health, addressing emotional literacy, recognising signs of mental distress, coping strategies & the importance of seeking help. 2. Support the trusted adult to support the young person, through communication techniques, recognising early signs of mental health problems & crisis management. 3. A toolkit to include a variety of evidence based techniques.
