Mental health has received a lot of focus recently, leaving mental illness out of the conversation. Adults who live with enduring and debilitating mental ill-health face daily challenges we can help with, and we do. We offer practical and emotional support, build confidence, and enrich lives.

Availability of support for adults who live with mental and psychotic illnesses continues to reduce due to lack of public resources, evidenced by repeated hospital stays and contact with the police, all a heavy burden on the public purse. These vulnerable people can be lonely and feel isolated; their families one day won’t be there for them and worry always about who will care for their loved ones when they are no longer able to.

There is plenty of temporary support available, all aiming for ‘recovery’, reintegration into the community and a return to independent living, but that’s often when the problems start again, and mental health declines. The support we provide is ongoing, and it’s the long-term aspect that makes such a difference to these vulnerable lives. Each individual is different, with varying needs and requirements. Our support is person-centred, help our clients to reach their personal goals.
