Alexandra Rose Charity supports families to avoid food poverty and eat a healthy diet through the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project. We work with community partners to identify families with children under 5 at risk of food poverty and support them to buy fresh fruit & veg using Rose Vouchers.

Although food inflation has slowed, prices remain high, especially for healthy food choices such as fruit & veg. A family's economic situation directly impacts the food choices available to them. Families are being forced to switch to cheaper foods to prioritise their children being full, rather than healthy. An inadequate diet limits the life chances of children on low incomes and stores up health problems for the future.

Through our Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project, we'll support families at risk of food poverty to buy fresh fruit & veg from local markets and independent shops using Rose Vouchers. We'll work with children's centres that identify the families most in need. Families get £4 of Rose Vouchers per child (£6 for under-1s), which they can redeem exclusively for fruit & veg, helping their children eat a healthy diet to grow, develop and thrive.
