Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are twice as likely as their better-off peers to leave school without qualifications and with no job or training to go to. Many face challenges, such as living in poverty, having a learning disability or experiencing racial discrimination, that prevent them from succeeding in education and progressing into the world of work. In the UK, 800,000 young people are not in education, employment or training (NEET), representing 1 in 10 of the 16-24 year-olds.

Our FutureMe programme supports young people at high risk of becoming NEET. Through coaching, social action and targeted ready for work activities –including business mentoring, insight days, transition workshops and work experience - we help young gain the skills and opportunities they need to unlock their potential and make a successful transition from school to work. FutureMe takes a long-term approach by intervening early and providing high-quality support for five years, from age 13 to 18.
