Our project is a lifeline support for families impacted by special educational needs and disability (SEND). We offer dedicated sessions helping families enjoy special times together and support for parents and siblings, helping them process and navigate huge challenges they face.

Situation
Caring for a disabled child has been compared to having three full-time jobs without any rest. As a result, families report experiencing exhaustion, isolation, and crisis situations. They often feel unable to leave their home and miss out on so much of life, in particular siblings of children with disabilities suffer isolation and emotional challenges, demonstrated by both national research and our own findings. We have over 900 families in need on our register, a figure that grows weekly.
Solution
We provide sessions for the whole family from our new Treehouse centre - a safe and fun space created for children with SEND and their families, where they can feel comfortable and unjudged. Our supportive environment helps families connect, reducing their isolation and strengthening the family unit. Our playworkers nurture families to play together, offer advice, and vital respite breaks for parents to decompress and share experiences with other families.
