Domestic abuse is the national emergency that is being ignored. This winter, we are supporting the thousands of women and children who are trapped at home with an abuser. Our services are a lifeline to survivors, but we desperately need your help to keep them running and respond to this emergency.

Domestic abuse (DA) is at epidemic levels in the UK. Latest figures from the ONS show that a heart-breaking 1.7 million women experience DA every year with 1 in 7 children having lived with DA at some point in their childhood. At Women’s Aid, we work tirelessly all year round to help women and children experiencing abuse to find a future free from abuse. Our CYP work offers lifesaving support and prevents DA by empowering young people to talk about relationship abuse and how to spot red flags.

Women’s Aid’s campaigning, policy and research work seeks to raise awareness and secure critical changes in the response to DA from government, statutory agencies and wider society. We amplify the voices of survivors, using lived experience to transform responses to DA, including in our own lifesaving Direct Services, such as our Live Chat Helpline, Survivors' Forum and Love Respect.
