We are raising funds to transform the lives of 15 vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Many live through challenging circumstances making day-to-day life a struggle. We use horses to connect with them to help to their self-confidence, resilience and encourage positive mental health.

Situation
In 2023 we managed to help 337 children in need- the most we have ever helped in one year! Despite this our waiting list is forever growing and the demand for our service continues to rise. Over 80% of the children referred to us suffer with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression and self-harm. Providing the correct support, in a timely manner, for these children is essential for their long-term mental health and therefore their future.
Solution
We use horses to connect with the children, unlike traditional counseliing the children do not have to relive their traumas. We pair equine-assisted therapy and classroom-based learning so children engage with the programme, providing them something positive to focus on and aid their recovery. Many children are reserved and show little communication, however the presence of a horse can open them up to communication and therefore a change within themselves.
