LYC is a place where you can learn, thrive and excel; a place of acceptance and encouragement where your voice means everything. We work with over 2000 young people each year, creating community through choir. We're raising funds to remove barriers to music-making for more young people.

Situation
Access to a music education is vastly unequal for young people. All children deserve to experience the joy and benefits of singing in a choir, but for many these opportunities are not accessible due to the barriers of cost, lack of local provision and reducing music education in state schools. This means they miss out on not only musical skills, but opportunities to develop teamwork, confidence & concentration, which are instrumental in allowing young people to reach their potential.
Solution
LYC’s team of musical leaders make a real substantial difference to the lives & ambitions of young Londoners, running 10 choirs: working with 500 young people from all over the capital each week, and LYC Experience: our programme delivering inspiring singing sessions to nearly 2,000 in state schools and community centres. Donations will help us expand this, removing barriers and increasing access for those excluded from musical opportunities, so more young people can find their voice and thrive.
